Miles per gallon

Miles per gallon measures how far a car travels on a gallon of fuel. Higher is better, and the figure on a specification sheet is measured under test conditions rather than in ordinary driving.

Real consumption is usually worse than the official figure because of cold starts, traffic, air conditioning, load and driving style.
